Kelly,
That is so awesome!!
There is one time that my Mom had heard that a WWE wrestler was going to be in town and she knew from a friend of hers, who was a friend of the wrestler, where he was going to be. My family was big time into that stuff and there were certain wrestlers that I loved. So, she went out to this bar that he was at and met him. Well, her friend had already told Mic Foley (the wrestler) about my Mom, our family, and me having Cystic Fibrosis. We had wanted to go the the event that was going on in Syracuse, NY and my Mom couldn't afford to take all of us. So anyway, my Mom met Mic Foley at the bar that night and he asked more about me being sick. She told him that I had CF and had just been diagnosed with liver disease (Cirrhosis). He loved how far I had come and that my Mom was a single parent with 4 kids, and he gave her tickets to the event in Syracuse!! He also got our address and he sent me some autographed pictures in the mail, a hand written letter from him, and a couple of t-shirts! That had so made my day!!
What made it even better is that we had a lot of people go (they were very generous with the tickets) and while we were sitting there watching the matches, someone came up to us and told us that we needed to go backstage! We were like...what? We don't have backstage passes. They took us with them and we got to meet three of the wrestlers back stage. It was so awesome and things like this do wonders for a kid who is sick!!
