yes I have done it before. once when i was on ivs the home pharmacist mixed the wrong dosage of tobra plus prescribed it 3 times a day which i NEVER get-so i noticed this and called them to check and then to double check.
they said yes, yes its fine. so say that my actual dosage should have been 500 mgs 2 times per day....i was getting like 700 mgs 3 times a day. the dose was over double what it should have been.
and i got this dose for about 7 days. my body felt horrible-like i was going to die. finally i put my foot down and they ALL realized that a huge mistake had happened.
i could have seriously sued some people for that. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
anyway, i was sent to the hosp for a liver panel asap and they flushed my out with plenty of fluids at home (through my picc and orally). i was fine but i'm sure my liver took a good beat.
he's young-give him plenty of fluid and rest. i'm sure its not a big deal.
btw you parents are amazing-i hope you know that! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Oh goodness, I'd be freaked out too. No sense beating up the hubby, sounds likes he's beaten himself up enough and as you said -- accidents totally happen. (((HUGS))) to you all -- I'm soooo glad that all is ok.

oh man i knw just how u feel and i am very happy ur little one is ok and you did a great job by contactin ur support help line.

i got one for you if u can believe this it was the pharmacy's mistake. Aidan must have been under the age of 1 and he was prescribed Tobi and the label said to give 3 teaspoons twice a day. oh my lord that was a nightmare to try and get into my baby i was litteraly crying cause he wuldnt take it. so we blew thru the first bottle and i went to get the rest of the script and the lady said its too eary i shuldnt be out of it already. so when she looked up aidans script it was called in frm his doc as give 3 mls twice a day and the pharmacy screwed up the label and typed 3 teaspoons. i culd have died right there. of course the pharasist took me in the nearest corner and began to apoligize his ass off. i just left and immediatly called his cf doc and told them what happened. i had to get his liver checked out and thankfully everything was fine.

then they had to calculate how much he got and if i shuld even give the rest of it to him. when i looked back on that week it was horrible his bottom has such bad rash he wuld cry all the time and of course he has the runs all day long. i felt awefull after we knw what happened.

we discused suing and actually spoke to a lawyer but didnt after consulting i was just so thankful aidan wasnt seriously hurt from it. needless to say we never went to them again
