HA I get these for my CFRD (diabetes to them <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">). I am like...no thanks...too complicated for y'all to be messing with LOL!

OK, I got some more info. It looks like a good plan on the surface.

The plan is called "BlueChoice PPO." My doc is covered but my hospital is not listed. Other Methodist hospitals are listed but not the one I go to. That's scary because it makes the difference between 80% and 100% coverage.

I couldn't get UHC to pay for the vest. I just sent it back because I'm getting new coverage in a month. We'll see what kind of headache BCBS gives me about it. The rep/broker had no idea what the DME max was or whether BCBS would buy or lease.

UHC refused to pay for my testosterone injections if I wouldn't go to a clinic to have them done. I'm curious to see how BCBS feels about me doing my own injections. It's a normal drug you can get from any chain pharmacy.

I had Blue Choice PPO when I worked. It was great, but as it has been said....it depends on the contract with the company.

I wish you luck & did you double check & triple check with the insurance that your hospital isnt participating?

I have BC/BS PPO. I haven't had anything refused, that includes meds, doctors, tests and DME. They also cover home health care (for home IVs). As others mentioned the specific coverage details is negotiated between BC/BS and your employer so your coverage may vary. One change they sent us info about for 2009 is that they're going to make us use a mail order pharmacy for maintenance meds. I'm not sure if it's "their" or "any" mail order pharmacy. (My Qs in to my employer haven't been answered yet). So hopefully I can continue to use the CFF Pharmacy and get my Pulmozyme & other meds covered easily. ~Juliet
