I Take Azithro all the time it used to be flucloxacillin but they changed me last year. If i have a cold they give me either Cipro or Septrin.

I've never even heard of Septrin! Wow... Seems when I thought I was resistant to everything oral they weren't looking at some of these drugs that I've NEVER taken. Wonder why. Hmmmm....

Let's see... I've taken augmentin, azithro, bactrim, cipro, doxycycline, tetracycline, and zyvoxx for bacterial and I've been on difulcan (fluconizole) and voriconizole for fungus.

We usually do IVs at this point for me because it works a little better. I always ask to try, but I usually need improvements quicker. A few of my bugs are resistant little things, but I know my MRSA is sensitive to the doxy and zyvoxx.

I use to be able to rattle off what drugs are good for what bugs, but since I now grow both PA and MRSA,they always tend to cover me for both so everything's gotten a bit jumbled over the last couple years <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

correct me if i am wrong anyone....but, bactrim does not target pseudo....nor does doxycycline. there are a lot of oral abx but not a LOT that will hit PA. Even zithro does not technically go after PA. I have never really taken the time to understand what the research is and why they want us all on zithro; but, i do know that it does not kill pseudomonas directly.
