I got a z pack today (finally!!!) and they gave me vicodin at the ER but that just gets me an hour of sleep maybe. i've been alternating ibproufen and tylenol all day long. If it's still bad tomorrow I'm asking for an emergency ENT referral. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

You can take ibuprofen and tylenol at the same time, they are different classes of meds. But don't take the tylenol of you are taking the vicodin. This is what I have done in the past when I am in tons of pain, not sure at doctor would think its real wise but a day or two of this never hurt me: I take 1 ibuprofen and/or tylenol every 3 hours instead of taking 2 every 6 to 8 hours. This way the level stays constant in my system, it never has a chance to wear off.

I'm glad you finally go the z-pack though!
