I also use the Robitussin...usually the one that has cf on it (but is does NOT stand for cystic fibrosis, I forget what it means). I dont usually have time for the whole ginger tea thing since my coughing fits are usually at night when I just wanna sleep. The other thing I have tried (ONLY IF YOU ARE OVER 21...LOL) is tea with rum in it. I had to do this before at college when I had an apartment with room mates. I boiled the water and put a shot of raspberry rum in it, just to see how it worked and it was beautiful and tasty too!!! haha.</end quote></div>

I think it might stand for cold and flu but I could be wrong though.

I have used robutussin liqui gels, the plain stuff.
I also have gotten a prescription from my doc before with the promise not to use it often <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
I think I took it during my brothers wedding and sometimes when I really need sleep and can't not cough. I don't remeber the name of it though

I thought that was why doctors don't like cough suppressants. Expectorants are supposed to loosen lung fluids, no? And I just looked on "about.com". They seem to think CFers take prescription expectorants. I have never heard of this.
