<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> I am other the moon! My lovely daughter, (b9/11/78) with CF, gave birth to a healthy boy, Isaac, today at 2:12PM. He weighed in at 7lbs 10 oz. and was carried almost to term...he was due on 7/13/07. So he was 3 days early. Lauren I thank the CF foundation for the singlemindedness in finding drugs that have made her life easier, longer and made this fulfullment of her dreams to become a mother, possible.

I can remember how devastated my husband and I were when she was diagnosed at 2 yrs. I remember when the Cabbage Patch kid was first marketed and how I took it out of her hands thinking, "My daughter, shouldn't be raised in the typical fashion-to want to be a mom." NOW SHE IS A MOM! We saved for her when she was a child, thinking that she would need so much money to pay for meds. when she got older...then...we used the money for her college. Life is good. LIVE MORE FOR THE MOMENT. No one in your everyday life can possibly understand how deeply this affects you and the changes it will bring to your life. It was a couple of years before I could look at my dear girl without intense sadness. It still is top of my mind every day...but what a wonderful life we've had...and look forward to having.

Congratulations to Lauern's mom!

I am so glad that both daughter and grandbaby are healthy and doing well. You will love being a grandmother. I know my mother can't get enough of my son. There is something new and magical everyday. I hope that Lauren's son brings her the same enormous amount of happiness that my son brings to me and my husband.

Just remember to pamper Lauren as everyone will be focusing on the baby (if that, of course, is what she wants). I know that there was nothing better than having my mother baby ME when I was recovering from pregnancy.
