My daughter cultured PA when she was 10 months
old.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0"> Took 3 weeks of Cipro and 3 months of Colomycin
(via neb twice a day).<br>
<br>
She cultured PA again 12 months later,<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0"> took 3 weeks Cipro
and will be talking Colomycin via neb for at least 12 months (been
back on Colomycin since last October).  <br>
<br>
<br>
Basically, what I need to know, is how many of you have been on
inhaled meds continuous for 12 months or more?<br>
<br>
Grateful for any advice. Thanks.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

I've been on Tobra/TOBI for a year now, 28 days on, 28 days off. Despite this fact, I always culture PA. Its the nature of the beast.

I agree with what Liz said, and I will add my own deal. I've been on nebulized Pulmozyme every day of my life since I was 9 (I'm 22 now). This past year, I've also been on Colistin and hypertonic saline alternating months, twice a day every day. CF and nebs kind of go hand-in-hand. Also, like Liz said, CF and PA go hand-in-hand. It's not the end of the world, but get used to the idea that your child will have PA fairly regularly, because it's likely to happen at one time or another.
