My brother (younger) had his double lung transplant exactly a yr ago today, still is doing Awesome! He was recently told about a few weeks ago that the left side of his diphram is paralyzed...he docs don't know how or why this has happened. Does ANYONE know how or why this has happened? The docs are just gonna leave it alone and see what happens, if it gets worse then they will figure out something to do, well I/my brother doean't want to wait. So does anyone have any cluse as to why and how this would happen?

Thank you

I know that there are alot of reasons why the one sided or unilateral paralysis happens. I have bilateral diaphragmatic problems but due to muscle issues, not from the nerve itself. Allyssa has given some good links...here is another that describes causes and treatments: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic554.htm
