does anyone else find it hard to watch there parents go through all the worry cos i find it so hard i try to play my illness down when i am ill cos i hate seeing the hurt in there eyes my mum and dad fill very guilty about me having cf and blame them selves which kills me i hate it i dont blame them at all i would like to hear your views<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

As a parent I cannot answer your question, but your message has made me sad, because I can see my daughter feeling this way in years to come...but I hope she doesn't.
I'm sure your parents do not want you to hide anything from them. Yes it is hard for us to see our children when they are not feeling well but it is part of the illness. Just as you want your parents to be upfront with you I am sure they want the same in return.
Instead of trying to hide it from them maybe you can talk to them about it together. I don't know what kind of relationship you have but I would hope that this might make everyone feel better. You cannot walk in each others shoes but you can help each other down an uncertain road.

hi, my names heather. i have cf and so does my son steven, who is now 3 years old. i understand EXACTLY where u r coming from. i HATE getting sick cause i know it hurts my mom and dad ALOT!! especially my dad, hes not really an emotional person, but i have seen him alomst cry when i get sick. it's hard but now that im a mother, i see things a little different. it may upset your parents that your sick but they love you VERY much and only want the best for you. well take care and if you would like to talk e-mail me at stevesxbabyxgurl@yahoo.com

hi i originally put the comment thank you to the peeps that replied . i do have a good relationship with my mum and dad i tell my mum when i am not well and she likes me to talk to her about my illness sometimes it is very hard to do she helped me when i had to have ivs and when i had a bad reaction to some medicine which we now no was an allergic reaction . my dad is not an emtional person he finds it very hard when i am in hospital . my mum has to take time off with stress when i go in hospital but they are great my dad takes time off work to drive me to my hospital appointments and doctors . they are such a great support and i am greatful for there unconditional love and support heart;from JOxxxxx
