Chrissy-Just incase you didnt know this might be why they have you do it. Once you take them for a certain length time then you can calculate out your range. My peak flow has a marker I put at green yellow then red that marks my range. I will have to look at #'s later I dont remember them, but I know if I'm in green I'm good, yellow I can evaluate if I think its allergies cold bad day etc and step up my treatments. Red I stay home and do full on physio etc etc and depending on situation call docs for an appointment.

I usually get about 300, sometimes a bit higher , sometimes a bit lower....my fev1 is in the mid 40's. I love doing the peak flow ( have been using one for years) You can also use it after the vest or the flutter to help get things up. Its very effective. Sometimes i cant always tell if i am getting sick because i always have a cough. So i usually do my peak flow each day once or twice and know my "baseline numbers". When i am feeling like i am getting sick, i keep an eye on my peak flow numbers and they can be a good indication when its time for more aggressive action.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Lauren I've been keeping track of many things this year that I never used to! My new years resolution was to be more proactive where my health is concerned. I honestly don't know how I got by before! Thanks for the advice!

Nicole, my dr did say that they wanted to get my range. Last year they had me check for a few days and came back with my "range". I thought it was a little odd that they only had me check days in a row. ( I had to go into the office to do it) This year I have a new dr (well she's kinda new...I used to see her when I was younger)
Your probably right and this is what she's having my check it for.

Thanks guys!
