People doing reports

Is it me, or are some people just really lazy. I'm usually happy to help someone out when they need to do a report on CF, but when they are asking questions that can easily be found on the main site as well as hundreds of other places, it gets a little tiring. If people are looking for references, then they can just click on a few profiles and get some names that way. I know, it's really stupid to complain about, and if i don't want to deal with it I shouldn't click on the topic. =-) I feel like a cranky old man today, though, so I'm complaining anyway. But seriously, anyone doing a report who reads this, unless you have a specific question to ask that you can't find anywhere else, you're just wasting our time. And for those of you who do get information from us, don't just dissappear without so much as a thank you. If someone takes the time to write back to you, you can at least say thank you. Ha, ha, okay, I'm done now. =-) i'll go be cranky somewhere else. =-)

Jarod, I have to strongly agree with you on this one. I have answered a few questions for people doing reports but only because they asked specific questions that you might not be able to find so easy on this site or online. But I can't stand the general questions either. I mean are these people stupid or something. "how does CF affect your life"? are you kidding me, why don't you read about 1 of the freaking posts on this website, you'll probably have your question answered, and then some just by doing that. You aren't the only one who wants to strangle them sometimes.

And at the same time, I think it's hard to try not to come off like a group of pretentious people who don't want to help anyone who isn't "their kind" but there is a line when enough is enough. I'm just venting too, gotta do it somewhere and it's better than with my superiors!

I agree. The first time I read one of those "project" topics, I was kind of a bit like "what are you doing here?!" (I think the question was, how do you live your life knowing that you have this disease?!")
I was a bit offended/annoyed too but said nothing because I thought everynoe else didn't mind. Like you said Julie, i don't mind when they ask SPECIFIC questions but its like they come here and think 'oh great a forum, hmmm, oh theres the new topic button and ask 'what is cf like?'! They don't read any other posts.
I may sound like a right moan, but its just the way i feel. Like I said Im more then willing to help if they ask SPECIFIC questions.!!!
