Perfume

Generally speaking, I have no problems with perfume. I myself prefer to scent myself with essential oils...I don't think the smell is as strong and they are more earthy lol. I don't wear a ton, out of respect for other people. Nothing is worse than being around a perfume or scent you can't stand!

I can't do perfume anymore. I think it's quite common with allergies and CF. My CF doctor is an allergist and there are signs all over his office, "do not wear perfume!" I don't even bother anymore, there are very few scented lotions I can tolerate as well.

I can't take it as well as I used to be able to, and a trip to Bath and Body Works is not on my agenda anymore <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> . I can take the vanilla, musks, and even fruity scents up to a point, but, like Mel, flowery scents send me over the edge. Most of my problem is my sinuses though, but long exposure to them bothers my lungs, too (for example, I try to avoid trading vehicles with my MIL when she has Ab, because her car smells like perfume and can make me feel SOB).

I can't remember the last time I wore perfume....Even my clothes detergent is unscented.

Not only can i not wear perfume but i cant be around anyone wearing it. All of my family and friends know not to wear perfume or cologne around me because i cant breathe when i smell it. I used to wear it all the time without problems but asi got older i can not tolerate it. I also cant tolerate scented candles or room sprays, flowers ( carnations are good since they dont smell),scented cat litter, certain hairsprays, washing detergents, fabric softener etc. I go as far as to stand in the back of the church the whole time so i dont have to smell anyones perfume. What gets me is nurses in the hospital who wear perfume........uggggggggggggggggg thats torture.
