What does it stand for....Pulmonary function test would be my uneducated guess....and I believe the closer to 100% you get the better...What is it testing and at what point ia a lung transplant encouraged if using these numbers.

Yes, PFT does mean... whatever you said (It's early and I can't think! And I'm to lazy to scroll down and check, so shut up!) And yeah, the higher the percent the better. It's even possible to be over 100%. I was there once, but that was a long time ago. I'm not entirelly sure what percent is considered for transplant, so I'm not going to guess. =-)

Pulmonary function tests, as you guessed, is correct. The closer to 100% the better, yes. And Mary, I've heard the same. They usually start talking transplant around a 30% FEV1.
