PFT's no change

I have been on IV Zosyn for a little over a week and I just did my PFT's again today with no change! Suck!!!!!! I feel fine, not SOB, no fever. I expected at least a little change. It is sooooo hard to work soooooo hard and see no improvement. I am PMSing, so maybe that makes a difference. Plus it is cold and rainy today, my heart was racing (cause I get nervous), and I was dealing with a high blood sugar. So, feel free to leave comments and tell me not to worry about it and that one week isn't enough and that it was probably a combination of things. Help me stay in the game and give me a reason to keep pushin I need some love and support right now. Only you guys know how much an appt. like that stinks.

On a good note. My doc is soo cool. He sat with me and made sure we went over everything and then he took the time to teach me guided imagery so I would be more relaxed for tests. Thanks to all of you who have already posted in my blog and if you are interested in self-hypnosis, I posted a blog on my experience at the pulmonologist today.

I'm sorry your pfts havent changed for the better, but a week really isnt enough. I never show improvement for a few weeks, sometimes longer. Being nervous can hinder sometimes. The good news is you didnt go down in your pfts
I will never know why but our hormones can have an effect on our lungs. With you pms-ing that may contribute to your numbers not rising. High blood sugar just stinks all around and can make you feel too weak to push a ton of air forcefully out of your lungs.
Your reason to keep pushing on hard? because imagine the rush you will get when you DO get those numbers higher....and you will .
There is no better feeling to a cf'er then when we get our numbers up and our hard work shows ! Now get moving and lets get our numbers up together .... I wanna hit 50% because i havent seen that # in about 5 years.
So lets get moving and no letting cf take from us what we arent willing to give.... our good pft's ........................How's that?

Diane you are a sweet person!!!

Im sorry to hear you are frusterated with your numbers.
I can get that way at times to. It can get really old to struggle to get better without good results.
I know its hard but try to be patient and relax.
When you are rested and relaxed you will probably see most things start to improve.
Just like Amy said in a previous post, sometimes the numbers dont improve because of inflamation not an infection. Maybe you can mention that to your Dr and see what he/she says. It maybe just the prob who knows.
Keep your chin up and keep venting here it seems to help me!!
