I just had a PICC a few weeks ago. They did it in the radiology department. The numbing shot hurt worse than anything... hardly felt the PICC line get inserted. Hubby got to sit with me the entire time. I think the whole process took them 10 minutes maximum. I didn't have much time to get scared. It took the nurse only one try... very smooth and simple.
