I just had my first PICC line pulled out last Wednesday. I feel great, but my arm and shoulder hurt so bad I can hardly lift anything. Anyone out there had experience with pain after PICC line?

thanks
tom

It sounds like they hit a nerve. The best thing is stretching (gently no tugging), dry heat & if need be some anti inflammatory like ibuprofen.

Is there any redness in the area?

No redness. Completely healed at the site, but still hurts when I move it certain ways, even after 3 weeks. Thanks for the reply. I've been stretching and it is better, but I still don't have full range in that arm.

Have you been checked for a blood clot? Just to be safe...someone else had pain several days after a picc removal recently, and she has a clot that is being treated right now.
