Tonya-I usually get this when I have 'something brewing'. If it is a one time occurence then it might be something dislodged that was old and dryed out, if it continues or is paired with other bad signs it is probably an infection. As a side note sometimes a week after IV's I start getting gross stuff agian because it got so dried out on IV's that it stayed put, then about a week later I get going again and can get it up and that may explain why it brought a bit of skin with it resulting in tinged sputum--I can usually tell within a day or so if it was just old stuff coming up or a storm a brewing.
