I agree with Jason and the potassium. Low potassium can cause painful muscle spasms in the feet and legs. They usually don't last long and are seemingly random in their onset.

never been on colistin, but that sounds like a charley horse-when it happens it feels terrible. stabbing pain, and like your foot is paralyzing itself.
