PLEASE HELP SAVE A MEMBER'S SON...EDITED WITH ADDRESS

If anyone of you has read Sweetwhite's (Mary) blog, you will know that her son, Zechariah, went into a depression and repeatedly said he wanted to kill himself because he hadn't any friends. He is only 7 years old. He is now in a psych unit. This is a pm she sent me:

i can not sleep without all my babies home knowing they are safe...i just want to cry again thinking about this..he called me tonight telling me "mommy i love you and i wanted to say goodnight before i go to bed", oh i held it all back just to get through the conversation with him without him knowing i was in tears. How can i make this better for him, i am lost with that question alone....I hurt for him, i cry him. this is such a long road he is taking to get friends. he needs friends like all of us.

I was wondering if we, as members of a "support" community, can come together not only to lift this family up in prayer--but....

I was thinking--let's start a penpal club for Zech. There are so many children of members here--let's get them to send Zech a letter, and let him know that he matters in this world. That he can have friends, even if they never meet. This would serve a two-fold purpose: one--it would help him feel that his life has a purpose; and two--this may help his reading and writting (and vice-versa for the senders!)

Also, maybe the adult members that have felt like he does, that have been there, wanting to kill themselves, or feeling like it just isn't worth it to live anymore---if you could send a card or letter saying how you felt and how you handled it....

But I especially want the children of our members, and you don't have to say he wants to kill himself, but just to give him an uplifting message. I think the kids would like it as a penpal club...

You can pm me for the address...please, I implore you, let's let this sweet little one know that his life is of value...
