Thanks, everyone.

I'm currently waiting to hear from the medical supply company here in town as to whether they will just swap this one out. My guess is it will take a while to hear back as they're "researching it". Urgh. But, since that is where I got this unit and its under warranty, as long as they have another unit, I should be able to get it done. Do you suggest calling my doc's office anyway just in case? Is it true our clinics have "emergency loaners" on hand for things like this? I've heard that from a couple people, including PARI.

Thanks,

Doesn't hurt to ask the clinic if they have spares or what they suggest. I think I asked ours once what to do in that situation and they indicated the DME had rentals, which they do, we just made sure the ancient devilbiss had adequate PSI and used that instead.

I do recall previous topics here regarding pari proneb ultra II in which people just swapped with the UPS -- sent the faulty one out as they delivered a new one. I've never dealt with pari though, our issues have always been with the other brand.

yes, my husband has also opened one up in the past and fixed mine. i don't know though- there might have been some soldering involved- he is handy like that.

thanks, everyone. i am certainly not handy and it says it voids the warranty if you open the casing on the pari ultra so i decided to just drive to the other end of town where i'd purchased my unit a couple years ago and they swapped it out. it was easy, but meant i couldn't get to my "morning" treatments until about 4 pm today. urgh. oh well.

my clinic nurse said they don't have them to "loan" and just suggested i let the medical supply company know the urgency of getting a unit TODAY. she also laughed when i told her PARI said to send in the unit and they'd ship one back to me within 2 business days of receiving mine.... she said that is not acceptable as i cannot wait that long without treatments (duh... i honestly don't know who COULD wait that long... if we need these compressors, we need them for a reason and cannot afford a week or more of turnaround time... hmmmm.)

anyway, thanks for the suggestions. i actually was given the pari proneb ultra II in place of my pari proneb ultra, so maybe its an even better model?? who knows...

cheers,
