Couldn'tve put it any better myself....I was educated for the most part on what the doctors were looking for when I was younger...my mom (being an ex-nursing student) had educated me on that part.
However, an added caution is if it is constantly unformed, it may indicate malnutrition. I only add that as my personal observation because that's what I was experiencing during my last two years of my past marriage...
I've also stressed (and often asked why) about the idea of adding more fats to the diet was necessary when the CF patient's body has the hardest time absorbing fats, of all things. Sure, like one guy I knew once said, a little fat in the diet may lube up the intestines (not sure how true that is), but if we cannot absorb even a little, then it's meaningless (and painful with tummy aches) to increase the fat contents. Especially with pork products if the enzymes being used are still extracted from hogs...
I might have "parallelled" the second paragraph to the topic, but thought it was worth mentioning.
