I was just dx'd this year....I have always gotten the flu shot every year since I have always been prone to the respiratory crap going around, but this was the first year I got the pneumonia shot. Apparently, at my "advanced age", I only need one more shot in 5 years, then I'll be done forever. BTW, just in case you were not aware, the pneumonia shot only protects against community acqquired pneumonias, not the pneumonias caused by the various bugs we are colonized with.
I also get it every fifth year. and it´s time for me to get one this year, but haven´t got one yet. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I get my pneumonia vaccine every 5 years.. I know when I first got it, it literally stopped me from getting pneumonia. I went almost two years without it.. but that was as long as it lasted for with me.. then I was back to pneumonia a few times a year.
I got one back in the day.. I dunno.. when I got my rabies vaccine ( I was volunteering with wildlife atthe time).. and my CF doctors told me later that people with CF get a different strain of pneumonia or something.. I dunno.. it was a while ago anyway.. I dont' know if it was true, but I never bothered to get it again after taht
