That's why this stuff is NOT to be used as a substitute for washing hands with hot, soapy water after using the bathroom or coming into contact with a contaminant of sorts. Too many people thing that anti-bacterial products are the latest and greatest thing and will keep them safer from germs. This is simply not true. Hand sanitizing gels should be used only when washing with hot water and soap is not an option or when you're in a situation where there's a high likelihood of hepatitis B (such as outdoor picnics and parties, petting zoos, public restrooms at state parks, etc.)

I heard that you should not use HOT water, but warm water as hot water tends to dry out the hands which can leave them more susceptible to cracking and thus, germs. But I agree that washing is always better than using those sanitizing gels - except in situations like lightNlife suggested.

What's the verdict on anti-bacterial soap though? I heard antibacterial soaps and gels can actually kill off "good" bacteria - does anyone know if there's any truth to that? Someone also said they don't use antibacterial soap to wash their nebs - I think it might have been AnD?? not sure, but would love more info on this if anyone knows.
