I should clarify -- as to the blog -- it's care page site -- limited access (have to know the screen name to access) and I update family members from afar as to weight & height at last appointment, culture reports, cough/sinus/headcold issues we're keeping an eye on. Just easier to access to compare than going down to our home office and pulling clinic reports out of the filing cabinet. Just do a control "f" with weight, etc.

I carry a copy of the xcel spreadsheet listing meds in my purse and keep a copy on our home computer and one at my office computer in case I need to call the clinic from work.

I keep a notebook for Samantha were I have printed a calendar, 1 month per page, and keep 12-16 months of calendars in the notebooks (3 ring zipping binder) It has her shot records medicaid card and all that good stuff as well and doctors reports from the last 5-10 visits. I also have a page that I typed up that has her name medicaid number, drs numbers, allergies, surgeries, current meds with strength dose and number of times a day. Then at the bottom I have her tube feed directions and vest settings, along with a list that includes dates of hospital stays, home IVs, and ER visits for the last 12-14 months. This way if anything ever happens and I cant tell someone what is wrong with her they can see it all because her notebook is with her 24/7. I also have a note in my wallet and in the dash with the insurance cards that says that Samantha has CF and to look for her notebook.

Now as for me I was only diagnosed a few weeks ago and am nowhere near as organized for my health stuff, but atleast I have Samantha covered.

I think, this is a little off topic, but imho the government should set up a system that all medical facilities have access to, and no one else, that the drs put all of your medical info in so that if something happens and you get hurt or something they can pull up your whole history with just a ss# it won't be hacked if they do it right, the government has stuff online that is super sensitive that isn't hacked, it can be done, this is 2008 why are we still using manilla folders and filing cabinets for things like medical records? seems ignorant to me. i keep a spreadsheet of most everything, i'd loose any notebook i would make, i keep stuff in a notebook when i'm the hospital or something but when i come home it all goes in the spreadsheet and i scan the paper the pft people give you into the computer and put it in the same file with the other stuff.
