Ports in women...

Hi ,

I am on my 3rd port, 2 were/are for abx 1 was for dialysis .. Unfortunately the first 2 , not the ports themselves just my crummy body , had to come out

. My first port was a pediatric, no probs w/ that (cept for the dang clot, nothing to do w/ the port itself).. My current port is a double port, miedi port i think its called.

It really doesnt stick out much when not accessed.. i do have some scars & the line on this one is close to the surface because they couldnt find another vein <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif" border="0"> Like i said my body is crummy ..

I absolutely love my port & hope & pray i get many good years out of it .. As i hope & pray yours does as well & that the surgery/healing process goes well.. Let us know ..

I did get my port last Thursday, whew, I am glad that is over with. My incisions are healing nicely- get the stitches out on Friday. They had to place mine near the surface as well. I ended up with an almost 5 inch incision- vs the 2 inch they said it would be! That is how hard of a time they had getting it in <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> So I hope and pray this one lasts long!!! It is about 3 inches above my right breast- over closer to the armpit...so it won't be noticeable in the types of clothes I wear. Thank you so much for all your kind words and advice. Without you...I would have probablly cancelled!
