Prednisone Dosage Question

I am fairly new to prednisone and have a question....

I have taken it before and my highest dose was 40 miligrams (20mg twice a day) for a few days, and then tapering off from there. MY CF doctor called me in that same dose for me today.

I was having a hard time breathing today (before I started the prednisone) and went into my local pulmonologist (not my CF doctor).

He upped it to 60mg once a day for 2 days, and then down from there. Has anyone ever taken this much? And I take all 60mg in the morning - all at one time.

I was on 40 & when we went on a cruise my doctor bumped me up to 60 for the week we were gone then back down.

Did you take it just once a day? Or was it twice a day at 30mg each?

I am currently on 60 mgs twice a day.. It is hard to be on that high of a dose but it is the only thing to open my airways. that is a decent dose you are on and a normal dose to take all at once
