Prednisone

Thanks,

My chest has been tight for some time now, but I'm going off the TOBi soon so I think it will go away, but if not a short stint of prednisone is probably in the cards.

Yeah, I know about osteoporosis. I have osteopenia (a precurser). That's why my doctor doesn't want me on it. However, I doubt if it will hurt if I'm on it for 4 or 5 days--that's what was prescribed earlier this year.

I've never used prednisone to help with my lung problems. I did however use it once when I was having sever joint pain, it got so bad I couldn't sit up by myself, could barely walk and I couldn't even bend my fingers. At first my rehmatologist thought it might have been some kind of viral infection, but it came back a few days after I stopped taking the prednisone and then my doctor thought it was CF related arthritis...but then it just went away and I didn't need the prednisone anymore.

My chest still seems to be getting tight. How do you guys tell if its asthma/inflammatory type of tightness or if it is a plug or infection. If its a plug, infection or congestion prednisone will not help. I don't want to ask the doc for it if this is caused by congestion.
