I think most with CF will find the link at the end of this post amusing. Some background first to put this into context.....

I myself was bout 8lbs overweight for about 2 years. Doesn't sound like much, but I'm 5'2 with a small frame so it's a big deal..... Warwick, when I went to visit him, helped me truly realize what was going on.

I had always been told that more weight with CF was better - until Warwick educated me that too much weight can lead to insulin resistance and it probably means you're not in shape, so your lungs aren't in optimal condition.

So I eliminated my Starbucks habit, cut out the sugar treats and switched to apples and bananas instead, and with Chris (Chaggie) and Q's inspiration, went from doing my elliptical 20 min 3 times a week to 42 minutes 3 times a week.

It took about 4 months because I wasn't fad dieting, but I dropped the 8 lbs and I'm now very toned, my stamina is up and I'm in much better shape. My increased muscle mass has increased insulin receptors which is always good as I age and my CFRD risk increases year after year. Plus I'm convinced that CFTR modifier genes are themselves modified by the act of exercise.

So it's with that background, I give you this hysterical link:
