I've got rose bushes and have gotten stuck by the thorns. Similar symptoms. Hurts like heck for several days. Think it's just because it goes much deeper than say a paper cut, so it takes longer to heal.

Alright, I'm on the next flight with my chainsaw!!!!!<img src="i/expressions/devil.gif" border="0">

I would think the antibiotics would keep you from getting any worse, but if it does, I would definately call the Doc.
