If you want a second opinion, I think that is fine. For regular care though, you can not beat a CF center. They are up on all the latest. I have experienced both in many cities. The regular docs just don't know enough about CF. That is the bottom line, they just don't know enough. You might be lucky enough to find someone who will do the research....but, they will have to educate themselves. You will not find many docs who have the time to do that. Some may even think they know enough....but, they just don't. That is of course MOHO.

Ummm, aren't you the one who posted a few days ago and we advised you to Run, not Walk to a new doctor? The one with out of date information about CF and a lack of concern about your being on O2 at 90+% PFTs?

It doesn't matter if they are nice to you. What matters is that you get quality treatment. It's a bonus to have nice - but the most important characteristic is a doctor is not bedside manner, it's effectiveness as a doctor in whichever field you are seeing them for.

If you do choose a private pulmo, make darn sure they know what is up to date and top of the line about CF. I would personally advise against it.

Ummm, aren't you the one who posted a few days ago and we advised you to Run, not Walk to a new doctor? The one with out of date information about CF and a lack of concern about your being on O2 at 90+% PFTs?

It doesn't matter if they are nice to you. What matters is that you get quality treatment. It's a bonus to have nice - but the most important characteristic is a doctor is not bedside manner, it's effectiveness as a doctor in whichever field you are seeing them for.

If you do choose a private pulmo, make darn sure they know what is up to date and top of the line about CF. I would personally advise against it.
