Anyway I am 10 weeks pregnant and have had a problems with
constipation and throwing up. Its either one or the other. I
haven't found anything that is great yet but I did switch my
prenatal vitamins to natural one and that seems to have helped
some.
I hope you start feeling better!
Constipation has been my worst symptom in this pregnancy. It started very early on and still bothers me. I have Crohn's disease and have had several abdominal surgeries, I have a lot of scar tissue that makes normal digestion impossible. Taking a laxative or stool softener makes me miserable and very sick. What works best for me is walking, water, raisin bran, and actually pushing on my stomach to unkink the the problem areas. I know this is gross but I have some real "bowl-busters". I have gone up to a week without a bowel movement and when it comes it feels like giving birth! I'm talking grab a coat hanger and break it up so it doesn't clog the toilet poops!!!! I definitly wouldn't recommend taking so much stool softener that you spend all night on the toilet, it's a vicious cycle that will make you miserable..

Try not to freak out too much about your trip to the ER. My mom does ultrasounds and she brought me in to her office in early pregnancy and we saw nothing, even though my pregnancy was a surprise I had already fallen in love with the baby. I cried the whole way home. When I went in for my first "real" OB visit, the doctor did the transvaginal ultrasound and found that baby and heartbeat right away. Hopefully, by the time you read this you will know more from you blood tests.. Good luck and happy incubating!!!

Just to ask u Jessica-did your pains go away? B/c after spending all night on the toilet, and pooping alot, the pain went away that morning. I haven't had it since. I would think if there was a problem it wouldn't completely go away.

Also-where were your pains? Mine weren't near my ovaries or uterus, it was on my side, level with my belly button.

I know anything can go wrong. Of course I hope it was simply constipation, but I and the docs seem to think it really was. Anyway, if something is going to happen-i can't prevent it. I guess I just look at it that way. Nobody can stop a miscarriage, unfortunately.

As soon as I have my first OB appointment I'll feel better i'm sure. And thinking positive will only do good.
Thanks for all responses!

Christian, I had bad constipation the first month. It was probably the vitamins along withthe fact that I was throwing up daily. I took a FiberCon capsule every day and drank lots of water. It got better in a week or two.

Christian,
Sorry to hear this is happening, but glad the "blowout" helped elleviate your pains. I was given an Rx for Miralax (I get it through CF Pharmacy).... I haven't had to use it, but they gave it to me when they added more enzymes to my diet in case it "blocked" things up. So, maybe you could check into that for in the future?

Good luck and keep us posted!
