Problems Sleeping with Oxygen

So I started using 2L of O2 at night on Tuesday and every night since I've slept like crap. I'm up constantly coughing and moving trying to get comfortable. The first two days I woke up with no headache but this morning I have a headache and some serious sinus congestion. At this point I'm annoyed because I was sleeping better without it. Right now I'm pretty much getting up every two hours. Anybody else have a similar problem?

Do you have a humidifier on your oxygen? It's that little bottle of water attached to the concentrator, it connects between the concentrator and your oxygen canula. That should help with your sinus issues. If that helps a littl but not completely you also might want to consider cranking it up a liter. Do you have an oximeter? Does anyone sleep with you? The reason why I'm asking is because you can ask them to check your 02 while you are sleeping to see what it is running.

Hope one or both of these things work for you.

I thought about a humidifier because they didn't give me one, but my pulseox stays around 96-97 with the oxygen on. I just can't figure out why its making me cough so much.

My daughter had trouble it kept clogging her nose, she ended up having to use nasal spray. Before bed she would do her nasal spray and most nights I did a massage with lavender oil and eucalyptus and that seemed to help her

I use 2l of o2 as well, and it does make me cough every night for abt 15 mins or so then it stops, quite alot of junk somes up as well. I've been using it now for 3yrs I think? I wake up very dry in the morning so I started using a product called ARY it like a lubricant for the inside of the nose, looks like a Q-tip also the netti pot helps wet things up again. I didn't go with the added humidifier as it cld be a breading grown for bacteria and who needs the extra work of washing it everyday. You will get used to it, it takes time, and you will feel better. I also wake sometimes in the morning and the nose tubing is on the floor? But I do not like a face mask.

I had the same problem when I started using o2 at night too. I would wake up with a bad headache. I started using my flonase and then right before I go to bed I use a saline spray (over the counter) and that seemed to help a lot. As far as getting comfortable, it will take awhile but you'll get use to it.
