prophylactic antibiotics - yes or no ?

Ellie's doctor advises against abx use unless symptomatic. Studies have displayed a correlation between using antibiotics and the early emergence of PA. Trying to eradicate staph can pave the way for MRSA in addition to pseudomonas. It would be great not to culture anything...HOWEVER, there is a "protective" aspect in having staph when attempting to keep PA at bay. Perhaps Ellie would culture PA sooner if we were to keep her on a prophylactic abx...
