I used to read the Onion all the time when I lived in Milwaukee. It isn't meant to be serious, just funny. I gotta say I laughed at this one too.

But I agree-to those that don't know that the onion is fake this would be surprising

Hahaha! Even negative publicity is good publicity. A lot of people read the Onion, so perhaps some will do some searching to see what Cystic Fibrosis is really about. Clever.
