pseudomonas???

I have only even known about cystic fibrosis for the three years my daughter has been here, so everytime something is going on with her I ALWAYS educate myself. Now I know WHAT pseudomonas is and I have her meds for it, (she was jus diagnosed last week) But what I cant find is exactly how dangerous it is and what are some ways (other than the meds) I can keep her healthy? Like what do I need to do extra? What do I need to keep her away from?

Well obviously keep her away from people that are sick, keep her med compliant so that she is getting rid of as much mucus as she can...other than that there is nothing to prevent psuedo. I mean its not really dangerous to have it once...but over time thats what gets people with CF is the numerous hospitalizations and over time the lungs get so much scar tissue and they just stop working.

Ok thanks, i know i can ask her doctor but i was just doing some late night browsing and everytime i searched for things about pseudomonas all i saw were the bad things. It just really started to freak me out, and I needed some advice from people more educated about CF and had more experience before I could lay down and go to sleep. I read that it was the leading cause in CF patients death and stuff... and who can sleep with that on their mind? Its her first time having it and OF COURSE were treating it. It also said something about plants, muddy water, and animals being the way you would catch it. Do you think its because I let hr play in the rain in mud puddles, or because we have a dog, or a flower garden?? I know that sounds crazy but you never know!
