Does anyone use either of these? If so and for how long? And why do you use them. I am wanting to change from taking prednisone (30mg. every other day). I need something to help with inflammation and also allergies.

I use to use Advair, but really didnt think it did much good. I will also say that during the time I was using it I was having extreme problems with my airways & its possible I wasnt able to get all the powder as deep as I needed to. I have been on Pulmicort since & love it. I prefer nebs because it seems to get in deeper to my lungs. I have been on Pulmicort for about a year now. I also take Zithromax for its antiinflammatory agents.

Sean was on Advair for a while but we didn't notice any difference. His Dr. switched him to Singulair to control his inflammation. I've also heard of folks that are using Zithromax or Ibuprophen for controlling inflammation. I guess it just depends on your Dr.

My son uses pulmicort and Flovent interchangeably - but he's just 2 so can't say much about his satisfaction with either...you might want to check into Flovent
