That's good to know Lynda as I am strictly on Medicare for my nebs...I haven't had a problem yet (refilling for this month), buy ya never know with Medicare. My doctor has me listed with several diagnosis so that I get my nebs..CF for the TOBI, Xopenex, and Pulmozyme, as well as asthma, respiratory failure and I think even COPD somewhere because of my obstructive component. Medicare can be such a PITA!!! Thanks for the heads up..Jenn <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Just wanted to say that I've had the same issue come up now that my Xopenex is out of refills (Medicare won't cover for CF diagnosis code)....I tell ya.

Has anyone else had this happened lately?

When Medicare was my primary, I got denied albuterol and that was awhile ago (so not even due to these recent changes you're encountering). How anyone with CF can live WITHOUT albuterol/xoponex is beyond me. The pharmacy had to put in some code for asthma in order for me to get it covered. Completely ridiculous. I guess we should be grateful to have any coverage at all, but sheesh - they sure don't make it easy (or logical)!

(Did I spell grateful right? tehe)

I have been on Medicare A/B for 10 years not just for CF but for other medical conditions I have as well, and two years ago I joined a Medicare C Advantage Plan and also a Part D prescription plan that you are eligible for if you have Parts A and B. I would highly recommend looking into the Advantage plans if they are offered in your state. I have rarely had any meds not covered, and those meds that were sometimes denied coverage, I had nurses and doctors work hard at prior authorizations. I am on 14 meds, so I have a lot to worry about in making sure I have all of them, and I have found good results from my Part D (Unicare) and when I go to the hospital, my Advantage plan (Health Net) covers hospital stays for only $100 a visit, two weeks or as long as required. Just thought I would share my experiences. I live in Arizona, so this may not help everyone. Have a nice day!
