Hi There

I have read many posts and how wonderful THE VEST is for airway clearance. If Sakasuka you went to the trouble of taking to Europe...I believe it must be very worthwhile to your health. I live in Australia and have some rellies who travel to Amercia regularly. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy one and if there are any hassles getting it into Australia???and of course the big question. How much do they cost?

Thankyou in advance

I just got the new Respirtech vest last week and the statement I have showing what they are billing insurance is $12,900. BEfore you have a heart attack though that price is for life meaning everythign is covered, repairs, replacements etc. Additionally, if you are willing to actually pay for the vest tehy will most likely give you a pro-rated price since I am sure the insurance wont pay the full price either. YOu could call Respirtech and get the info directly from them, that woudl probably be your best bet. All the contact info is on my blog, in addition to the contacts I have listed, a woman named Bravira handled my case and was veyr helpful.

never mind I have my statement right here 18007931261 www.respirtech.com

My doctors site studies saying that vest vs manual cpt and acapella and the like are equivalent. I dont buy it. For me vest is way more effective most of the time, occasionally I will use acapella as well as I think every method has its advantage. I think teh vest is the easiest to be adherent with which in and of itself makes it much more effective.

ALso should mention if you want one of the older hillrom vests then sometimes they are on ebay or recently someone was getting rid of one on here. I will be taking requests for who needs mine later after I ensure my insruance has covered my new one. I am not sure, when purchasing a used vest how much you would have to pay the company to get the actual vests whcih is why I had planned to try and give mine away to someone who would use the same size so I coudl continue to order them or slightly smaller so it wouidl still be believable.

I know for a fact that if I get a new vest from Hill Rom that they will send UPS to pickup the old one. So unless the new vest is from a different company expect to turn the old vest in. BTW my understanding is the warranty & unlimited service with the tubes, vest etc is null/void unless you are the person it was orignally issues to. The warranty is not transferrable so this is something to think about if ou get it used.

jan you may as well buy the vest in aus. it works out to be the same price in the end and remember if you buy a US vest you also need to buy a transformer to change it to 240 volt. these can be pricey depending how much power the vest uses.
