Doesn´t ADEK´s contain zinc? As far as I remember, you shouldn´t take zinc and iron at the same time, so maybe thats why.

I was comparing the ADEKs drops bottle to the Source CF chewables this past weekend and noticed that ADEKs has B vitamins, along with some others. I did know about the zinc because when we had issues trying to get adeks when DS was a newborn, the dietician didn't want us using regular poly-vi-sol (infant drops) because they lacked zinc.
