Question about donating blood

if their vitamin and mineral levels are fine, they have no other complications or conditions that would exclude them and havent been on anti biotics for 3 months, then yes they can. well, thats for australia anyway.

In the US, you cannot donate blood if you tell them you have cf... No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I was perfectly healthy, no meds or anything - they stamped me indefinitley denied. I felt like such a failure.

Just don't tell them if you really want to do it!!!!

I looked into it in high school and basically they told me that I was'nt allowed becuase they didn't wnat my white blood cells to drop and me to get sick or something along those lines.. I live in Canada...

I asked about it one time, even though I was pretty sure that I couldnt. I was told I had to weigh no less than 120 (which I didnt). I also read a paper that stated that if you had asthma you couldnt donate. I figured that if ppl with asthma couldn't donate, then I was pretty sure CFers couldnt, but I asked anyway, given I was actually the proper weight, and they told me no because of breathing problems.
