Question about the Cordless neb

Does anyone know if you can or can't do Hyp Saline in the Omron microair cordless neb? B/c I don't know why you can't, but I tried it once and it made a weird noise and stopped producing mist. So b/c I don't own it (its technically a rental and I am responsible for damages, yikes) I am reluctant to try it again.
But perhaps it was an error on my part. Don't know.

Anybody help?

I have an omron ultrasonic neb, and I do hs on it all the time. Mine did that once in awhile, but I ran a slow stream of water through it and cleaned it with alcohol wipes, and it has been just fine. I've only been on hs for a couple of months, but I have pretty much always used my omron. Every now and then I'll use the pari trek. Hope this helps!

alcohol wipes-good idea!! I can't figure out how to clean this thing. b/c you can't run it under water.
do you know off hand, are there any meds you can't do in it?

and what do you do if you do all your meds with it? Like if u do TOBI, your'e supposed to switch all the tubing and neb cups in a standard nebulizer. So what do you do when using this cordless neb? Just thoroughly wipe with alcohol?

ahhh! this is all complicated.

I pretty much do all my meds one after the other. I do duoneb, then hs, and then pulmozyme. I always (okay well I am not 100% but I try), to get my morning meds done. And, I try to do them in the evening, but I don't always have time.

Anyway--I don't know if we have the same neb, but the very back of mine comes open (where the med. sits), when I have done one med, I run warm water through the back then dry it off. Then I pop in the other one and repeat. I always run water after hs. Then, when I am all done I run super hot water through it and let it dry, then I use the alcohol wipes and let it dry again. Since the neb does everything so fast, I am more prone to taking the time to clean it. I know this is not a proven method or anything, it is just my method. But, I have been using the omron for about 8 years now----I refused to take a nebulizeer to college. I'm slightly stubborn, and was not going to back down, so my doc told me about this neb. I've been in love with it ever since. I usually have to buy a new one every year and a half to two years. But they sell them on e-bay, so it is not that difficult.

Hope this helps!
