Question About Zosyn--From Mel

I generally feel like an entire truck ran over me, not really localized pain but all over pain, cramping sensation. I have spastic muscles as it is but it gets much worse with Zosyn. I also find that my electrolytes get really whacked out too not to mention my kidneys hating it. The docs usually give me a running IV to keep me well hydrated and my kidneys flushed when I am on Zosyn. I hope that you feel better soon Mel...as always, I am thinking of you. Hopefully that prandin does its job for your CFRD...Initially I was on Prandin but eventually switched to Lantus insulin because my sugars were all over the place. I can't believe I didn't see this before now.. YES MEL.. Zosyn did that to me, in fact the longer I was on it the higher my fever got and the more my body hurt, they finally figured out that Zosyn gave me serum sickness... I thought I was dying. and all along it was the Zosyn..

SOon as I stopped the Zosyn I was a new women... I still have trouble with other antibiotices.. Especially Zyxox and other ones but nothing like Zosyn.. It is the first antibiotic on my list of drugs I am allergic to..

Hope you feel better my friend..

SOon as I stopped the Zosyn I was a new women... I still have trouble with other antibiotices.. Especially Zyxox and other ones but nothing like Zosyn.. It is the first antibiotic on my list of drugs I am allergic to..

We finally figured out that my son is allergic to zosyn-rashes, high fevers, feeling awful- happened twice to him, when he was 5 and then again when he was 21. I am so glad we figured it out. Drs thought he had developed a virus that was causing the symptoms. Once he was off the zosyn all symptoms dissappeared. susan
