Hey all

Thanks for all the responses. I knew the minute I posted it, that it was a pretty vague question, as I could never answer a 'what's it like to breathe' question either!!

It's great that there are so many of you who have such high pfts. I guess I was trying to see if those of you with the high pfts had lung problems every day if that makes sense!

As someone said, I guess I am in the unusual position of knowing what it is to struggle to breathe and now am able to take a deep breath freely! And to whoever asked, it is great waking up minus my old cough! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

My PFTs are high and I get SOB on a regular basis, walking up stairs, running around the ER working, I am most productive in the morning.. by evening I am not so much.

I agree with Amy and Chris mine has a lot to do with the weather, allergies, and I have a pretty bad asthmatic componet to my CF as well.

I do stop to cough and I do feel breathless at times but I wonder if my breathless is something that someone with lower PFTS would consider breathless I don't know..

MY O2 sat when I have been sick has been so severly low (low 80's) that I have been on Bi pap before....

before i had my son my pfts were high 80s and now they are low 60s. i had trouble breathing when it was in the 80s now its just worse. I am working hard to get my pfts to upper 80s and then some. 115 wow yea i would love that!!!! i have a mild case of cf so a lung transplant is out of the question for me</end quote></div>

Hi Vampy,

Just wondering if you could clarify why you think transplant is out of the question for you? What does a mild case have to do with it? Just curious. Thanks.

I think she meant given her PFT's right now at 60%, she's not eligable for a Tx.

And I know this has been brought up before, but an FEV1 of 60% is not mild. 60% is moderate CF.
