All I have to say, not that anyone probably cares, is the following:
I think its ridiculous to bring Amy's mother into this-Amy is a grown adult and while I understand your disection of her personality, Amy's actions have nothing to do with her mother. I don't even know her mother but I could easily see this turning into a debate/bashing thread about this woman and thats not right.
Amy is a valuable member of the site, she has provided alot of help to people with certain aspects of cf, including me. (yes she makes me scream at the computer at times but she has helped me as recently as a few days ago about allergy questions)
This is the bottom line with her-she and others probably think its her straightforwardness, her toughness, her rigidity with her opinions-heck even her stance on issues (cf and pregnancy for one....which has driven me nuts at times)-that make people resent her and give her a hard time. No-thats not it, none of it. You can state all those opinions as often as you want without sugar coating them.
Its that when you say things, you often do so with the motive and tone of making the person look or feel like an idiot. Intentionally. That is, personally, my issue.
So if you care at all-even in the slightest, and you probably don't and thats fine too...but just in case you do care, thats what people get upset by. Not your opinions, but how you deliver them and with what motive. You can deliver straightforward honest hard opinions while being respectful. I wish you'd do that bc things would be totally fine. Why make people feel stupid all the time-why? I really don't get it.
So I for one don't want Amy to get banned bc she is a valuable intelligent member of the site, but YES, I do get upset by this increasingly so esp when it comes to people that come to this site looking for support and get driven away. Thats very sad to me. And its immoral too I feel. Like kicking a dog when its down. I have come soooo close to leaving this site for good bc of things she has said-not to me, to others. Its depressing, upsetting and not what I feel like reading esp on a "support" site.
But no-no banning. But thats my personality-I don't believe people should be banned for their speech neccesarily.
I see both sides of this clearly...but man this topic is such a bummer.........
