Random question for those who have had a transplant

Hmmm good question!

I never had the 'alien fingers' look. My clubbing wasn't all THAT noticible but there nonetheless.

After tx it seemed to improve, but just a couple of weeks ago (now 18months post tx) I've notived that it's become more visable. So I don't know WHAT the cause could be...

It is weird to me I had more "alien" looking fingers before I started to get really sick. As I needed transplant more to me they weren't that bad. I do know that my doc looks at my fingers every time I go in for post transplant appts and he says that it usually takes time but after a year or so that I should see the clubbing go away completely. I have noticed that my pointer fingers and my pinky fingers are not as clubbed as they were though. The others look about the same to me though.

Take Care,

Lindsey

I have 2 friends who have had TX's due to CF. I did not know them prior to their TX's, so I don't know what they looked like before. But for both, their nails still look big, not clubbed, just big. The clubbing part (flattening of the area where the nail meets the nailbed) is gone, but their nails are still quite large for their hands. You can tell that they once had clubbing. Make sense? That's my experience with clubbing and TX.
