Reputable CF Clinics....

I understand that accredited CF Care Centers are examined by the CFF and must adhere to certain guidelines...however, even if your center is accredited, how do you know it's a "good" one or that your doctors are "good"? Is there a patient review site/forum of sorts?

Even tho accredited CF Centers are suppose to adhere to certain CFF guidelines.....there is a difference in statistical care. A lot influences this tho.

Here is a link showing data regarding CF patients to compare all clinics. Keep in mind that income of the patients is a huge factor in a lot of this info so use it only as a tool & not the sole deciding factor.....

The info on this link is from 2006, but it can give you an idea. You do have to register to access the info tho....

Also, one thing we ran up against at National Jewish (Denver, CO) is that b/c they have one of the oldest CF populations many of their stats for PFTs etc aren't that great. A lot of patients come to NJ for lung transplants and when they're doing poorly b/c it's such a renown lung hospital, but unfortunately that all plays in to the stats for the patient population there. So just b/c the numbers might be lower, doesn't mean the care is bad...in fact there it's the opposite. The care is so good that people go there when they're not doing very well.
