Hello, my son ruptured his eardrum a few days ago and I was wondering if any other CFers experienced this. He felt sluggish all day and was real whiny at bedtime (he's five) he woke up around two in the morning with a high fever and stomach ache. He said his hear hurt and was in a lot of pain, He would fall asleep for maybe ten minutes at a time and wake up in more pain. I finally got him to sleep after giving him some motrin, he woke up in the morning and had blood and pus literally dripping out of his ear. I took him to his regular pediatrician and said he ruptured it and has strepp throat. His CF problems have primarily involved his sinuses and throat. He has had his tonsils, adenoids, and nasal polyps removed two years ago and done great ever since. The doctor couldn't easily see if his polyps were growing back because of the swelling and infection. His ENT said repeated ear infections can indicate that they are growing back. Is this a common thing? Will this affect his hearing permanently? Sorry to ramble on but I am just curious to know if their is a huge difference between a CFer experiencing this as opposed to a healthy kid.
