Hey everyone. I need some help for my daughter. She is getting ready for her science project which the title is due soon, the project later. She really wants to do something of cystic fibrosis or lung transplant. She is in 4th grade, but very smart so they are expecting a lot of her. Does anyone have any good ideas?

there aren't really any. She just has to have a purpose, hypothesis, procedure, conclusion, results, etc. Just a typical school experiment. She has just missed so much school lately due to rejection issues that she is being given a hard time about grades. She wants to prove to them that she is a great student and deserves to be treated that way. She loves school and all of the teachers love her, but they sometimes make her feel that its a hassle to have her there. School people, they just really don't understand.

This site can help you find a project.

I answered a few questions and found I project....

"Which Fruits Can Ruin Your Dessert?

Objective

The purpose of this project is to test the hypothesis that food items containing a protein-digesting enzyme will prevent gelatin from solidifying."

Here's an idea for an experiment/demonstration a 4 year old can understand for lung transplating:

Take two balloons and fill them with air. Start of with a narration of; "these are CF lungs", and as the air is slowly let out, the narration can say "these are CF lungs as time goes on", and then when the air is gone, another balloon can have air blown into it, and the narration can finish with "this is a new cf lung".

Viola'!
