Scoliosis and cf

Diane

New member
I have never heard about cf being linked to scoliosis. Come to think of it i know a lot of people with scoliosis and not one of them has cf and vice versa. If there is a link between the two, i have no idea.
I used to go to a Chiropractor years ago for my headaches, and i know they are great for treating scoliosis, Maybe before you look into your son wearing a brace , you can check with a Chiropractor that specializes with children and see if he (or she) can help.

I also have scoliosis. I assume 15 degrees or under, since I didn't have a brace. Mine just hurts when I overdo it or sleep on it wrong (or when I was a kid, when I spent the day horseback riding, I would wake up with my "curve" hurting. My top curve is also where my bra goes . I do remember talking to someone here about a "flexible brace" for her son, but I can't seem to find the pm right now. However, the brace was this, if I remember correctly:

flexible brace

and sounds alot better than the traditional "hard" brace, especially for someone with cf. I hope his stays the same, so you don't have to even consider what kind of brace .

Wow- this is interesting. My sister has scoliosis- she had to have the surgery. Hers what quite bad. She doesn't have Cf. But I am thinking since there does seem to be a link, I better pay closer attention to my 7 yr son with cf because scoliosis runs in my family. Weird -- good luck with everything.
